- Manufacturer: Intex
- Weight Capacity: 1300 lbs
- Size: 24 x 20.5 x 14 inches
- Material: PVC
- Engine Capacity: 1.5 horsepower
Bottom Line: Usually fishing is either safe or comfortable - with Intex Excursion, it’s both!
Pros
- With inflatable seats and three air chambers
- Durable and puncture resistant
- Safe and steady on the water - great for lakes and mild rivers
- It can hold up to 5 adults (maximum of 1300 lbs)
- Great overall design
- Includes rod holders, oars, etc.
Cons
- Not for rough waters
- Add-ons are flimsy
SUMMARY:
Intex Excursion falls in the middle of the price range. For some, it might even be expensive. But for an inflatable boat as safe and comfortable as this, it’s a steal!
You’ll love its key features.
It’s made of durable and puncture-resistant PVC that won’t easily get damaged. The I-Beam floor also keeps the boat steady on the water.
Intex Excursion includes seats, too, so it needs more effort to inflate and deflate. And it has three separate air chambers – one of them is an auxiliary. Good thing there are Boston valves where you can attach an electric pump that makes the inflation and deflation job easy.
As for its additional features…
Each end of the boat has grab handles and there’s a grab line that goes around the boat perimeter.
Also, it has four oar holders, oarlocks, four fishing rod holders, a gear pouch, and motor mount fittings. The last one can handle up to a 1.5 horsepower trolling motor. Plus, the package includes a carry bag and repair kit.
They’re less durable than the boat itself, but they’re useful enough.
So, for sure…
Intex Excursion will last so long that you won’t have to think about buying the next one for a long time. It works well with an electric trolling motor or a gas-powered one. We hit a few smooth rocks with it, but there was no damage.
It’s also very safe – it would wobble when the waves get rough, but it’s generally rigid. Adding that to the inflatable seats with backrests makes this a super comfortable boat. That’s why it’s our Editor’s Choice.

- Manufacturer: Intex
- Weight Capacity: 410 lbs
- Size: 83 x 46 x 16 inches
- Material: Nylon
- Engine Capacity: Not compatible
Bottom Line: It turns out - you can expect durability and comfortability from such a cheap inflatable boat!
Pros
- Super affordable
- It comes with a repair patch, 48–inch Deluxe aluminum oars, oar locks, and mini hand pump
- The oars and boat itself are durable enough for the price
- Steady and rigid on smooth water
- Comfortable floor
Cons
- Small size and capacity
- No motor mount
- May pop with too much air pumping
- Not for rough waters
SUMMARY:
We treated Intex Explorer how we treat inflatable boats that come at affordable prices – like a child’s toy. But we were surprised by its performance on the water!
Given that the waters are smooth to slightly rough…
Intex Explorer is pretty steady sailing, especially with the oars that come with it. They’re made of aluminum and the oar locks are welded to the boat, so they don’t wobble while you row. And you’re going to keep rowing because you can’t mount a gas or electric motor on it.
But that’s expected based on the price. What we didn’t expect was how sturdy the boat material is. We faced some rocks when we used them for river boating, then went home with Intex Explorer still intact.
You just have to carefully inflate it because it’s a small thing. Some reviews say that it popped because of too much air. So, we kept that in mind when we set it up.
Good thing…
The package comes with a mini hand pump. This is better than an electric one because you have to control the air that comes in.
So overall, Intex Explorer is relatively safe. With its comfortable and rigid floor and extremely low price, it won our Best Value award!

Namely…
Intex Seahawk has an I-Beam flooring that makes it rigid enough not to stumble when the waves get bigger. And its vinyl material is thicker than a mattress, so you can rely on it to stay intact even when you bump a few rocks along the way. That’s why it’s our Top Pick!

Pros
- Triple-layered PVC makes it puncture resistant and durable
- With an inflatable keel, rock guard, and grab line

- Rigid and stable
- High engine capacity
Cons

- Its weight capacity is too small for the price
SUMMARY:
If you want to treat yourself or your family with a high-end inflatable raft, the Intex Mariner is for you. It’s one of the most expensive inflatable rafts you can find, but you’ll get your money’s worth!
First thing’s first…
The manufacturer’s main concern when designing this boat is your safety. There are a lot of possible causes for rafts to be punctured. So Intex made the Mariner series with three layers of PVC and a rock guard that surrounds the boat perimeter.
Plus, it has an inflatable keel which allows you to control it easier. So, we conclude that Intex Mariner is one of the best inflatable boats on the market in terms of safety.
Add to that…
Intex didn’t miss the add-ons! You’ll find two 54-inch aluminum oars and an Intex high-output hand pump inside the package.
And the boat itself has two Boston valves, a gear pouch, battery pouch, two fishing pole holders, rotational oar locks, motor mount fittings, and a repair patch kit.
All in all…
You can cover more fishing areas with a maximum of 3 horsepower trolling motor. And even on rough waters, Intex Mariner is reliable in keeping you safe. You can’t put a price on that!

Cons

SUMMARY:
Have you ever bought inflatable pontoon fishing boats before? Well, let us tell you this – they were expensive! But for a good reason besides being classy-looking and complex.
In other words…
You won’t regret buying an expensive inflatable pontoon boat if it’s the Classic Accessories Colorado! Aside from its durable and abrasion-resistant PVC, nylon, and steel tube frame, it offers a whole lot more.
You also get two seven-foot oars made of durable aluminum and a seat when you buy the boat. It also has a slip-free footrest, dual-side stripping apron with a fish ruler, tow rings, non-corroding oarlocks that can double as rod holders, and trolling motor mounts on each side.
So, Classic Accessories Colorado is reliably safe even in slightly rough waters. Not to mention, it sits high on top of the surface, so you’ll be easily visible even from afar.
But the best thing is…

SUMMARY:
When it comes to kayak fishing, we recommend this puncture resistant inflatable fishing kayak from Intex. It has all the add-ons that other inflatable boats do.
We’re talking about oar and rod holders and locks, motor mount fitting, I-Beam floor, grab line and handle, seats, two paddles, and a high-output pump.
But have you heard of its unique features?
If you’re bringing fishing accessories, Intex Excursion Pro Kayak has a mounting bracket for that. Also, it has adjustable footrests, a removable booster seat, and two-directional skegs – one for shallow water and another for the deep.

- Modern-design key features
- Comfortable swivel chair
- Rigid wooden floor
- Easy to steer and steady on rough water
Cons
- Expensive
- Low weight capacity
- Overall build and add-ons are less durable than expected from the price
SUMMARY:
Solo fishing will only give you the enjoyment and peace you’re looking for if you’re comfortable and safe. And you can rely on the Sea Eagle 285 inflatable fishing pontoon boat for that!
First of all…
It has a swivel seat that rotates 360 degrees on a 7-inch pedestal. You’ll look like the captain of your own ship! And a classy ship at that, with modern designed key features.
You’ll find a removable wood floor that keeps the U-shaped hull rigid and steady on the surface. It also has a fish ruler, mesh stripping apron, raised oarlocks, and two Scotty mounts for your fishing rods.
Just by the looks of it…
You’ll easily see that it is high-end and expensive. But you might want to be careful with it because it’s not as safe as you’d expect from its price point. The material is just as durable and resistant to punctures as the less expensive brands.
Still, it’s highly recommended because it’s reliably safe. You can mount a 3-hp trolling motor on it and go cruising and lake fishing in peace.
Plus…
As if those special add-ons aren’t enough, this fishing craft comes with two oars and a pump!

Bottom Line: If convenience and rigidity on flat water is the game, Sea Eagle 375FC is the winner.
Pros
- It has features for convenience and comfort
- Includes two swivel chairs and other special features
- Includes complete key features, two paddle, pump, and carry bag
- Rigid and stable on flat water
- Durable overall build - floaters and underbars
- Modern and efficient design
- Its patented FoldCat design makes it easy to set up
- It can accommodate modifications
Cons
- Very expensive
- Heavyweight and hard to transport
- Low weight capacity
- Unstable on whitewater
- Add-ons are not as sturdy as the boat itself
SUMMARY:
Of all the fishing rafts we’ve tried so far, the Sea Eagle FoldCat is one of the most innovative. It’s heavier than most because of its solid underbars, but it has a lot to offer. And we especially like this fishing vessel because it worked well with our modifications.
But its key features are impressive too.
It has carry handles at the front and back, four Scotty rod holders and mounts, raised oarlocks, two oars, a high-output pump, and carry bags. They’re not as durable as the rest of this inflatable boat, but they will last long.
Besides, you can enjoy fishing with your buddy on this boat’s two swivel chairs! You can mount one of them on a 7-inch pedestal. Your fishing experience will be peaceful and safe, especially with the removable casting bar where you can stand and not worry about falling over.
This is one of the most convenient inflatable vessels we could find on the market!
Add to that…
It’s a little hard to transport, but it’s super easy to set up once you’re on-site. It looks more complicated than other inflatable pontoons, but Sea Eagle’s patented FoldCat design will get the job done for you. It’s as easy as unfolding a blanket!
Once set up, you’ll find that its underbars effectively keep this boat rigid and stable on the surface. It’s not made for whitewater boating, but it’s great on calm lakes and seas.
Overall…
There’s a reason that it’s more expensive than most inflatable boats. If you want to treat yourself, you won’t regret Sea Eagle’s FoldCat!

Bottom Line: Don’t be scared of rough and rocky terrain - Classic Accessories Roanoke pontoon can survive even that!
Pros
- Durable and abrasion resistant material

- It has zippered storage pockets
- Footrests are adjustable
- Includes one seat and under-seat stripping apron
- Rigid and stable on smooth water
Cons
- Expensive
- Low weight capacity
- Unstable on rough water
- Hard to inflate and set up
SUMMARY:
The Classic Accessories Roanoke package includes two 6-foot oars of aluminum and heavy-duty oarlocks. You won’t find an air pump or carry bag, unlike the other pontoon boats.
But…
With its durable seat, stripping apron, and adjustable footrests, you won’t mind the absence of other features. It also has zippered armrest pockets for your refreshments and a storage platform for your catch. Just keep in mind the 650-lb weight limit.
You don’t have to worry too much anyway because of this boat’s overall durability. You may encounter some unforgiving terrain or rounded rocks during transport – the bladders’ PVC material will prove to be abrasion resistant!
Also…
The steel frame makes Roanoke a very rigid pontoon. It’s stable on smooth to slightly rough waters. We don’t recommend it on rough rivers or when the sea waves get higher. But you can fish in peace on lakes and other calm bodies of water.
It might be an expensive inflatable watercraft, but it will last long enough and keep you safe and comfortable.

Buyer's Guide:
How To Choose The Best Inflatable Fishing Boat
What are the different types of Inflatable Fishing boats?
- Inflatable kayak – a slim boat that usually sits one to two people.
- Inflatable pontoon – a flat-hulled boat that uses floaters or float tubes to be buoyant.
- Inflatable dinghy – small boat that’s usually used as a backup vessel and towed behind larger boats.
Features to look out for:
- Canopies and swivel chairs on pedestals make for a convenient fishing experience.
- Storage space is very important when you want to fish all day.
- I-Beam floors make inflatable rafts rigid on the water surface.
Inflatable boats and specifications explained:
Inflatable boats are lightweight watercraft that use flexible tubes inflated with pressurized gas to float on water.
- Weight capacity – this should tell you whether you can haul more gear, catch, or people on your boat.
- Size – this is a factor of portability and capacity.
- Material – this is the biggest factor of durability.
- Engine capacity – this should tell you what type of motor you can use to propel the boat safely.
These are things to consider:
- Boats with lots of additional features usually have less weight capacity.
- Heavy boats may be hard to transport, but they’re generally safer on rough waters because they’re not easy to toss.
- Boats made for leisure fishing are more expensive.
Best Inflatable Fishing Boat Top Tips:
- Trolling motors are advisable because paddling is an exhausting job. You can save the effort for actual fishing.
- When inflating pontoons, make sure that the air is balanced on both sides.
- Backrests are important to keep you comfortable even when fishing for hours.
- Solid backrests like on swivel chairs are more functional than inflatable ones.

Also…
Just because other boats have fewer scores doesn’t mean that they are not high-quality. But for this metric, we considered the price as our baseline for judging.
