Bottom Line: Easy to throw and sharp enough to be a weapon

Pros

Cons

In this package, you’ll get six pieces of 8 x 1.5-inch stainless steel blades kept securely in a nylon sheath. All of those for a cheap price.

We got more value than we expected from all these knives.

We think Smith & Wesson makes the best flying knives in terms of steel quality and overall build.

Each is a well-balanced knife that’s perfect for practicing beginners and experienced knife throwers alike.

The only problem…

Some of us think it’s too light, especially because experienced throwers prefer heavier knives.

We expected it to be heavier because Smith & Wesson knives are designed for precision flight.

But…

The weight makes it compact, so you can bring it around anywhere and use it for other purposes.

For example, you can throw it for fun and games. But its sharpness allows you to use it as a weapon against immediate harm.

There are also delicate bushcraft tasks that you can perform with this knife.

Aside from that…

Each durable throwing knife has a sharp edge that can stick to any target. The knife holds in place once it hits the wood.

And it can also damage cement walls – we learned it the hard way. So it’s best to be careful.

But it’s safe enough to hold at the handle so you can comfortably use any technique – full-spin, half-spin, or no-spin.

Plus…

These knives retain their edges excellently.

None of these would easily rust, chip off, or dull out. There’s no need to sharpen it now and then.

So you can keep enjoying your S&W throwing knives!

Value of Money

For such a cheap price, you get six of these throwing knives. But it’s not just about the number.

More importantly…

Each Smith & Wesson Bullseye throwing knife in this set is made of durable stainless steel.

They won’t easily break or rust. And they have sharp tips that will stick to wooden targets – palm, poplar, or any softwood.

Plus…

Each knife has the right blade length to handle length and weight to length ratios.

And the center of gravity is placed at almost the exact point where the blade and handle meet.

So…

These are high-quality, affordable, and balanced knives great for beginners and experienced throwers alike.

If you put a Smith & Wesson Bullseye throwing knife flat on the tip of your finger, you’ll easily find its balance.

Its center of gravity leans neither towards the blade nor the handle. It’s almost at the exact middle part, where the handle and blade meet.

There’s a smaller middle hole that should tell you where it is.

In other words…

These knives have great balance. That’s what makes them great for practicing – especially for beginners.

Even if you don’t know what you’re doing just yet, there are a lot of techniques that you can practice using these knives.

But also…

If you’ve been throwing knives for a while and consider yourself experienced, you’ll still love how these knives feel on your hand.

These S&W knives are made of high-quality stainless steel.

To elaborate…

They won’t easily break or chip off, whatever your target is. In fact, our knives bounced everywhere – even cement walls – and we found little to no damage.

Of course, there were scratch marks. But that’s about it.

Each one is very sturdy. These knives are made of durable stainless steel.

Also…

They’re rust-resistant. Even after exposure to water and sunlight, they won’t rust quickly.

Just remember to clean them properly before storing them. And keep the nylon carry sheath clean and dry too.

These knives will surely last you long enough.

Blade Sharpness

Once a Smith & Wesson Bullseye throwing knife hits the target – it sticks. It sinks in as deep as the bevel would allow and keeps it safe and snug.

How is that?

Each stainless steel edge is ground so sharply that softwood won’t stand a chance.

As soon as the package arrived, we were excited to try the whole set. Straight from the sheath, we threw these knives around without even bothering to sharpen them first.

Turns out – we didn’t have to! The blade tips were all very sharp, to begin with.

But that’s not all!

Even after several throws, there was no need to keep honing it. These knives have excellent edge retention.

To be safe, though, you can sharpen it before every practice session or competition. But this is the kind of knife that doesn’t dull out quickly.

As mentioned before…

These S&W throwing knife products are great for beginners.

You can comfortably practice with it because it’s light and the blade length is safe if you still don’t know the best way to throw it.

But…

It’s great for experienced throwers too! It’s well-balanced, durable, and sharp – you’ll have an undisturbed practice session with it.

But you can take this to tournaments too because they pass competition standards.

And speaking of knife throwing…

If you have more than just one trick up your sleeves, don’t be afraid to use them!

Full-spin, half-spin, or no-spin – pick your specialty. But based on our experience, a no-spin works best with these short knives when you do a short-range throw.

Still, these knives will fly well using any of those techniques. They even allow more throwing adjustments if you’re still trying to find what works best for you.

Aside from those…

The quality and build of these blades make them useful for other purposes, too – not just knife throwing.

Suppose you’re out camping and need to perform some delicate bushcraft tasks. No worries! You can take out one Smith & Wesson Bullseye throwing knife from your set and use it.

These knives’ stainless steel can withstand throwing, cutting, and even self-defense!

A - These knives are made of stainless steel.

Question 3: Is the blade sharp, or is only the tip pointy?

A - Only the tips are pointy and sharp.

Question 4: How does the weight feel in hand?

A - It may be too light for experienced throwers. But beginners can practice well with it. And concerning the blade length, these knives are well-balanced.
