Our Verdict: Condor Tool & Knife, Bushlore Camp Knife
Affordable hand tools don’t usually come as high-quality as the Condor knife. This knife gives more value than expected from what we paid it for in terms of durability and sharpness!
From blade material to leather sheath…
This fixed blade knife doesn’t disappoint.
The Condor Bushlore camp knife comprises a 1075 high-carbon steel blade, hardwood handle, and a leather sheath. All of which won’t wear out quickly even after several uses.
Like other Condor knives…
We expected this one to be razor-sharp. And it is! Straight from the box, we immediately tried the paper test, and it swiftly sliced through. So we didn’t have to initially sharpen it before we tried it on wood, rope, and other materials.
We had to hone it with a sharpening stone after those trials – but not as much as we did with the other knives we bought. Besides, this knife’s blade material sharpens easy and retains the edge long afterward.
Just be careful with the hardwood handle.
Hardwood is a great handle material, especially if you want that classic look. Not to mention – it’s paired with a classic leather sheath.
But in terms of durability, it’s not the best there is. And the smooth finish makes a slightly unstable grip. It’s a good thing, though, that the shape, finger guard, and lanyard hole compensates for the small inconvenience.
Also…
This Condor knife has a double bevel or compound grind. In other words, its blade thickness isn’t good for delicate bushcraft tasks like carving and skinning.
But this particular grind is known to make the blade very durable for the toughest tasks around the camp. Cutting, batoning, and splitting wood wouldn’t be a problem with this knife.
On top of all those…
It only weighs 0.44 pounds. Some of us think it’s too light for its 9.25-inch overall length. But the blade length is only 4 inches, and the hardwood handle material is naturally light.
When in use, you’ll find that it’s balanced and easy to carry – thanks to the lanyard hole and belt loop on the leather sheath.
In conclusion…
Condor is a great knife for different camping chores. It’s so useful that we almost forgot how inexpensive this knife is!
That’s our Best Value knife!

Condor knives are known to be affordable. Usually, people don’t give it much credit because its price is lower than others and looks a bit old-fashioned.
Good thing…
We don’t judge quality by the price! We’ll never regret our purchase of this Condor knife because of the great value that it brought us.
It’s made of the highest quality materials – 1075 high-carbon steel blade, hardwood handle, leather sheath. And it proved to be very useful around the camp.
Plus…
It doesn’t wear out easily and has excellent edge retention. We’ll get into more detail about that as we go through each metric…

At 9.25 inches overall length and 0.44 pounds in weight, this Condor knife’s weight to length ratio is 0.05 pounds per inch.
This knife’s light and compact design give it a good balance.
We took a point off of the knife’s balance score because of the unstable grip. Since the handle is smooth and the whole knife is light, you’ll need to hold it tightly.
Still, compared to other knives we found on the market, this one is easy and comfortable to use. It won’t fall out of your hand as you slice, cut, or chop – not even when you’re batoning.
So…
We can say that it’s one of the safest knives that we’ve ever brought to camp.

We were surprised when we found out that this Condor knife has a 1075 high-carbon steel blade. That’s the same blade material that the other, more expensive products are made of.
In other words…
The Condor knife won’t easily break even when you use it for heavy tasks.
Also, it’s corrosion-resistant. You can skin and dress meat with it and expose it to moisture and sunlight, but it will be long before rust develops.
Just make sure that you clean it right before storing it.
Generally…
The combination of high-quality blade material and a well-made grind makes a sturdy knife.
It’s already inexpensive in the first place. In addition, you won’t need to worry about it breaking and forcing you to buy another one. This knife’s steel quality will save you even more money.

A 1075 high-carbon steel blade is not just known for its durability. This particular blade material makes really sharp blades when made properly and carefully.
And Condor knives won’t disappoint you on this front!
Condor’s Bushlore camping knife is razor-sharp.
It can slice through paper, wood, rope, and meat like an expensive blade. It’s small and light, so we didn’t expect too much from it.
Imagine our surprise when we found it very useful in carving, cutting, and splitting wood!
But because of its size, the most effective way of doing those tasks is batoning. Don’t worry about that, though. As we said before, the blade is very durable.
Overall…
With the blade’s durability and sharpness, these chores would be a walk in the park. And you’ll only have to hone it after several heavy uses!

The Condor knife has a compound grind which is known for its sturdiness. Consequently, that makes the knife great for woodworking and general use.
The grind itself already makes this knife versatile.
It’s just a little too thick for carving wood or skinning small animals. But if you’re having a large fish or a deer for dinner, this knife will still be handy.
And then, when you’re going to cook, you’ll need kindling and wood shavings. You’ll also need something to strike a Ferro rod and set those things alight. The Condor camping knife is great for that too.
If you need to cut ropes or paracords and cloth for making shelter… If ever you need to make sticks out of branches… The Condor Bushlore camping knife is still your guy!
In other words…
You won’t need to carry so many tools to get all your camping chores done. This Condor Bushlore camping knife will be enough!
