No rips, no tears – protect your RV at all costs with these top-notch covers!
Some people ask why invest in motorhome covers?
I live in an area where we get lots of snow and I make sure I have a quality RV cover that stands up against all elements – snow, wind, rain; you name it.
And most RV covers maintain a new look way longer – so important to protect your investment.
You see…
There are a couple of ways to cover your RV.
You can place it in a garage or storage facility. You could also opt for half-covered or full – covered ports.
However, those are not options for everybody. Storage facilities can be quite expensive. And a half or full covered port isn’t a viable choice for RV owners who live away from it all.
So, a third option arises – using travel trailer covers!

Cons

Summary
Our Editor’s Choice is better than larger and more costly RV covers.
When I say it covers everything – it does!
It even was able to cover the tanks and tongue jacks. We’re also pleased that there’s a zipper right by the door – allowing access inside without removing the entire cover.
The hardware seemed higher quality…
…the straps felt thicker, and the buckles were pre-woven with stitched tabs to prevent them from backing out.
What I can share with you is…
You can breathe right through the material. It doesn’t take much for the rain to saturate it. Thus, we survived our first winter, including a pretty crazy blizzard.
Covering up any sharp edges that can tear this beast. So, we put tennis balls over the ends of the rain gutters, folded the radio antenna down, and went up on the roof to coax the cover over the obstructions.
To test this beast…
We tried to place a pool noodle over the gutter spouts. However, when we didn’t cover up the sharp edges of our RV…
Oh boy! Here’s what happened…
The fabric was torn away from the elastic edging, and the buckles had torn away from the fabric flaps they were attached to.
So, we contacted the company to submit a claim for the warranty – we added the requested information and some before and after photos.
The company stood by its promise and sent us a whole new cover.
Another thing…
An indicator tag tells you which cover part belongs in the front.
Look for that – and start there.
This cover is worth your buck. We appreciate that it came double-boxed. And a three-year warranty is also great compared to other competitors with similarly priced covers that only last 1-2 years of warranty.
If you travel in areas with rapid weather changes…
We suggest you buy Classic Accessories’ PermaPro cover. It’s made of a ripstop fabric that’s more resistant to strong winds and high sun intensity.

Overall Score:

Just like the more pricey covers for much less. It’s well-made and super easy to install, with excellent fasteners and tighteners to protect your RV daily.Pros
- Easy to install
- Good ventilation
- It comes with handy weights
- Available in a one-year warranty
- Fits well and covers the trailer’s hitch
- It comes with good clips and straps
- Secures to bottom easily and quickly
Cons
- Not waterproof
- No zipper to access the camper
Summary
Our Best Value by Covercraft is well-made and feels a bit like a custom cover.
It’s made with great material and incredibly easy to install. It fits our 18” travel trailer with ease.
Compared to our Editor’s Choice, our Best Value doesn’t have an easy access zipper for the camper’s door.
For the price?
Can’t get a better deal. And they provided enough straps.
But here’s the thing…
Our trailer has a substantially rounded front roof line, so we had to add a few ropes to diminish the cover flapping in the wind.
We also cover the sharp objects, such as antenna edges, to avoid damaging the top cover and tearing the fabric.
When we heard that the monsoon would kick in from where we stayed. We tighten our cover down with the provided straps. It’s snug, the cover-up so tight around our trailer.
We love how the straps tighten on the front – durable it is!
On the other hand…
We wouldn’t recommend this cover if you’re trying to protect your RV from the sun.
As long as you’re prepared to replace your cover every two years – you’re good then. For the price, you get what you pay for this beast.

Summary
Our Top Pick has gone to the real test!
It went on easily and fits great – it has much thicker fabric than our Editor’s Choice.
We can use the cover to go over the spare tire and the propane tanks. It still had a little slack, but we used the straps to make it snug.
The separate cover for the jack came in handy, as well.
We used the two straps that go over the entire RV for extra security and the straps which go under the RV. We also used the four gutter spout covers to protect the cover and keep it intact.
Aside from that…
The three zippers constitute two zipper doors at the passenger side panel. Plus, there’s added padding under the zippers, worry-free and scratch-free for our adventure.
It may not be waterproof, but it’s windproof and has double-layer stitching. Of course, we expect some wear and tear… but this beast will definitely last for years.
It’s a good cover and stayed in place all winter.
Not only that…
The front and rear reflective strips will make your RV more noticeable at night. And the air vent enhances the airflow and balances air pressure inside and outside.
So, we look forward to protecting our RV again next winter with this cover.
Best Durable RV Cover
Camco ULTRAGuard RV Cover
Material – Polypropylene
Fit Type – Class A / Class C / Travel Trailer / Fifth Wheel / Pop-Up
Sizes:
20’-24’
22’-24’
24’-26’
26’-28’
28’-30’
30’-34’
34’-36’
No. of Layers – 3-ply (top) / 2-ply (sides)
Manufacturer – Camco
Overall Score:
84
The Bottom Line:
It’s made with two extra durable layers of plastic on the sides that will keep your trailer protected. Camco has stood the test of many high wind storms and heavy snow.Pros
- Fits easily, secure, adjustable, and tight
- It comes with a cover and straps
- It has one full zipper at all four corners for easy access
- It has covered air vents to prevent moisture, and high winds
Cons
- Thin material
- Zipper are hard to use in the cold
Summary
Camco – a high-quality cover worked as expected.
The thin material held up excellently in our first heavy wind and rain storm experience.
In terms of weight…
It’s lighter than our Top Pick – and heavier than our Editor’s Choice and Best Value. However, Camco RV covers are pricier than our three top awardees.
But…
It’s reasonably priced. It’s a good fit, and the quality out of the box looks good. Straps hold the cover secure, and the workmanship is fine. It also allows you to access your toy hauler ramp.
How so?
The back panel can be rolled up, and the front panel is strapped.
The “driver” side of the cover has a half-size vertical zipper on the long side, along with the ones at the corners. The “passenger” side of the cover has two full-size vertical zippers spaced about one-third the length of the cover and the ones at the corners.
A total of seven zippers for this sized cover!
A few cons we would like to share, though, are…
Even though it has withstood windy winter and is in good shape. We did find a small rip in the fabric – patched it with duct tape. The strapping system needs to be improved as well.
On a positive note…
This cover excellently fits our trailer with a little extra space. We’re also able to pull the rear over the back spare tire.
It isn’t too loose, and it wasn’t too tight, where we felt that a corner was getting pulled tight enough to tear under windy conditions.
It also comes with a ladder cover and a storage bag for the cover. The color gray/sage cover blends nicely with our forested setting.
We also like the quality and the elastic along the bottom.
Just keep in mind, though…
Measure your trailer without a hitch, and it will fit within the advertised range. And cover any sharp or protruding edges in your RV before installing.
If you do that, this cover will last for three years.

- Easy to install
- Anti-UV
- Rollable zipper doors
- 24-month warranty is available
- It comes with four tire covers
- It comes with plenty of adjustable straps
- All accessories and the cover was in a vacuum sealed bag
- Enough to cover propane tanks and electric jack box
Cons
- It’s not environmental-friendly
- Stitching on straps and rivets along each side are a bit flimsy
- It’s not suitable for cold weather
Summary
This protective cover held true to its word.
You can tell there’s quality to it the second you open the box.
If you don’t have a half or full-covered port to keep the weather off your RV trailer – this cover is a great buy!
There’s enough room in the front to cover propane tanks. And has included wheel covers and a small cover for the electric jack box.
If you notice…
The commonly used cover material is a heavy-duty plastic called polypropylene. In contrast, the Quictent cover is made of polyvinyl chloride.
What’s the difference?
Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is a synthetic resin used in various outdoor products due to its excellent properties and low cost. However, PVC is the most environmentally damaging plastic than PP.
Truth is…
There have been no tears or fabric issues. We tried to pad all corners and parts that could cause tearing before installation.
The full-body straps are a must-have – they keep the cover tight to the sides and top of the trailer. Overall, we’ll look forward to using it for years.
But…
If you’re concerned with the material used – you’ll not hesitate to buy this cover. The rivets and stitching can be improved – making it more durable in extreme cold.

It’s sturdy enough and has survived a few storms.

…including the tire covers, propane/battery cover, and hitch leveler.

Overall Score:

The Bottom Line:
FRUNO fits well with its cool metallic and waterproof cover. It’s quite robust as you tide down your trailer – held up to more and more wind and absolutely stood the test in winter.Pros
- Easy to install
- The top cover is thicker
- Tire covers are great
- Four rollable panels on both sides
- Four reflective strips – front and rear
- Four corners of the bottom are thickened with 300D cloth
- 30-day money-back guarantee
- Available in a five-year warranty
Cons
- Stitching on either side of the zippers is single stitch
- No directions
Summary
Here are my one cents…
FRUNO absolutely snugly fits our camper – sheer solid and secure!
We like side zippers allowing access to the interior. And the straps were more than long enough.
However…
While there’s double-stitching in every part of the cover, the stitching on either side of the zippers is single-stitch.
Thankfully, there have been no tears on the cover. But, this is something FRUNO could improve: double stitch around the zipper.
Aside from that…
It’s a slight hassle without directions. It’s not a deal breaker, but directions would be helpful for the first-timer.
The tire covers are awesome and secure!
This is a quality cover for the price, and I would absolutely recommend it.

Just having a road trip in your camper or motorhome.
It just so happens that we’re like you – seeking reliable, comfortable, and cost-effective RV covers.
Section 4: Buyers Guide: How To Choose The Best RV Covers
What Are The Different Types of RV Covers?
Do you live where it always rains and needs moisture protection? Do you live in the desert where strong UV rays can quickly deteriorate your RV?
These are a few other types to think about:
- RV wheel protection
- Windshield covers
- Roof covers
- Vent covers
- And lots more protective RV accessories…
Not all RVs are created equal – similar to covers. Class C RVs will not fit a cover for travel trailers or a fifth wheel.
Features to look out for
- Zippered panels – allow access to the inside of your RV even if the cover is on.
- Air vent system – reduces moisture build-up
- Wheel cover – additional cover for all your RV wheels
- Straps and buckles – additional security during windy conditions
- Adjustable front and rear tension panels – for extra tight and prevent high wind
- Weighted toss bags – secure wind straps
These are things to consider
- Warranty Length – Ensure to buy a cover with a warranty of two or three years. In our list, FRUNO offers a five-year warranty.
- Size – Measure your RV – height and width
- Material – Choose a material that’s much stronger than other RV cover materials – to suit your RV’s maximum protection against elements
- Additional Features – Look for a camper cover with zippered panels and air vents for easy access and breathability, respectively.
Jargon buster
- Polypropylene (PP) – commonly used material – breathable, water-repellant, quick-drying, often triple-layered to protect against rain and snow.
- Polyester – breathable, woven material that prevents moisture.
- Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) – synthetic resin used in various outdoor products
Best RV Covers Top Tip(s)
Secure your cover properly. Don’t let a portion of your cover loose, especially during high wind conditions to prevent damage. Use the straps and buckles for a solid and secure cover.
Check the condition right out of the box. Inspect for tears or rip before installation.
Use warm water and mild detergent to clean the cover. Once clean, allow it to dry.
Section 5: FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions
Q – Are RV covers good?
A – You can maintain your RV more affordably and effectively if you have a cover to protect it from the elements, including wind, snow, dirt, UV damage, and normal wear and tear.
Q – Should I put a winter cover on my RV?
A – If you use a cover over the winter, your RV will retain its value by remaining in better condition for a longer period of time. The cover will protect the paint finish from prolonged UV (ultraviolet) radiation exposure. It protects your automobile from wind, tree sap, and bird droppings.
Q – What is the best material for an RV cover?
A – The right-sized cover will snugly fit over your RV. Before you go out and purchase a cover, measure your RV. The cover will be unfastened if it is larger than your RV. Your choice of cover material should be based on the local climate.
The majority of high-quality RV coverings are both waterproof and permeable. The fabric’s minute holes allow moisture to leave without obstructing the entry of water droplets. Suppose you choose a cover made specifically for RVs; you shouldn’t worry about moisture getting trapped underneath if you choose a cover made specifically for RVs.
Round-Up
Section 6: Our Analysis, Comparisons & Test Results
Value for Money
Buy quality cover designed for travel trailers. Look for a good RV cover worthy of your buck.
If you’re someone with a certain budget – that’s fine. Look for cheaper covers having features that will stand against naturally occurring situations.
It’s also not wrong to spend extra for a more specialized cover. Always invest in durability, reliability, and additional features.
But, remember…
…not because it’s high-priced doesn’t mean it’s a must-have. Sometimes you have to look at others.
Read travel trailer cover reviews. Suppose you have a motorhome – then read motorhome cover reviews. Do not fall for what you see in the picture. It’s always better to know other experiences of customers.
Fit
Don’t just buy – double check the right size of cover depending on your RV. While there are “universal fit” covers, others can be customized or specialized.
Also, not all RV covers will fit to cover your trailer’s hitch. You should look for a cover that would cover all of your RV – from top to bottom – including the wheels. We recommend you read RV cover reviews to know customer experiences. You can also ask the manufacturer to help you know the dimension of your RV and what size of the cover is right for your RV.
Durability
A weather-resistant RV cover helps to last a cover for years. An all-weather protection cover will save your RV – even from rips and tears of naturally occurring situations.
Features
Additional features could help your cover stand against elements. You should look for a durable cover with: adjustable tension panels, zippered panels, an integrated air vent system (quick drying and reducing wind stress), windshield covers, waterproof coating, and more!
Ventilation
You don’t want to experience the horror of seeing mold and mildew in your RV. Thus, look for air vents before you make your buy.
Vent covers reduce moisture build-up and prevent your cover from tearing apart due to strong winds.
Conclusion: Best RV Covers

Go on then…find your first (or next!) cover from our list. Use your muscles, climb up to your RV’s roof, and see how the cover fits and protects your RV.
Our top awardee stood the test!
Our Editor’s Choice perfectly fits your trailer and unzips all the way to the top – giving you easy access right by the door. It also covers everything – including tanks and tongue jacks.

On the other hand…
…our Top Pick went on easily and fits great – it features a rollable zipper door for easy access with velcro and added padding, ensuring that your RV is free from scratch. And much thicker fabric than our Editor’s Choice.
