Light For Glock 19

Durability, shock resistance, versatile switches, and a perfect fit for a wide range of guns? 

Not surprising since this TLR-7A pistol light is from Streamlight. But among the Streamlight weapon lights that we’ve used and tested, this is, by far, the absolute standard, making it this review’s Editor’s Choice. 

I and the guys have been using Streamlight tactical lights for years now, so we can easily vouch for their quality. 

But this one is just something. 

First off, I like that it’s made from polymer, so it’s not only dependably durable, but it also blends very, very well with my Glock and looks just like it’s a default part of the gun. It’s also pure black with a very thin, barely noticeable ring around the light, so it doesn’t ruin the Glocks aesthetics.

What’s cooler…

…is it has a low-profile design and is flush with the gun itself! Of course, I’m talking about the Glock 19, but it also fits with a wide variety of guns, from full firearms to handguns. 

Its lens is also as impressively designed. Aside from being resistant to high temperatures, its Borofloat glass is also impact-resistant.

How about the light output?

It gives off 500 lumens of light, which is more than enough for close-quarter combat. Just a little over what most people dim as safe brightness (around 150 to 300 Lumens), it can momentarily blind an opponent, but it can blind you too if you’re using it in a very closed space with bright walls. 

We loved how it didn’t rattle at all, even after 2,000 rounds. It’s clamped securely and with great stability. 

This guy also has a strobe mode function, which took me quite some moments to figure out, but once you get used to it, it also becomes quite intuitive. 

And it doesn’t end there. 

It has both high and low switches, and they can be accessed ambidextrously, so this is literally for everyone. 

In addition to that, this wonder is also waterproof up to 1 meter and has a run time of around 1.5 hours, which is not bad but also not very exceptional. But overall, if it’s for occasional use, this pistol light is one of the ideal lights that you can get for your Glock. 

Deemed one of the most underrated best tactical weapon lights on the market, this Olight PL-Mini 2 gave us the most bang for our buck, making it this ton’s Best Value tactical light. 

And really, it’s so loaded with cool features and exceptional build that it’s still working like new even after thousands of rounds. 

Made from aluminum, it’s also very lightweight, which I liked very much as it never ruined the balance of any of my guns when it was installed. 

And speaking of installation, it’s easy and straightforward, which I accomplished after just a minute. 

It comes with two rail adaptors, the GL, and the 1913 rails, so I was able to use it later on with my other handguns. In addition to that, it’s also adjustable, so you can just slide it forward or backward along the railing to suit your preference. 

As for the light output… 

…it’s 600 Lumens, which is incredibly bright that sometimes, it felt like it’s about 1000 Lumens!

The beam has a widespread rather than being concentrated, so if that’s your preference, then this is your best bet.  

It’s already very bright at about 50 meters, but it has a throw of about 100 meters, which is a plus. At the 100-meter mark, it didn’t even get diffused or lost its brightness. 

Like the Editor’s Choice…

…it also has an ambidextrous switch. Turning it on and off is fairly easy. You can set it to a momentary flash just by holding the switch. It’s a bit stiff, but that also means that it’s quite safe from being switched on accidentally. 

Now, here’s the kicker…

…it comes with a really cool magnetic charger, so I didn’t have to remove it from the pistol when it’s time to recharge it! 

Amazing, right?

Moreover, it also has a red light indicator that tells me when the battery is running out (around 25%), which is a very nice though not all gun lights have.

But that’s not the only impressive thing about this tactical light. 

It’s also very well-built and durable. After two months of regular use, it’s still scratch-free and going strong. Never once did it fly off from the gun or rattle with the shots.

This Streamlight TLR-1 tactical light has 1000 Lumens of a concentrated beam, so it’s mainly focused on the target but also has just the right amount of illumination for your peripheral sight. 

It’s seriously one of the brightest lights we’ve ever encountered, making it this list’s Top Pick. 

This guy isn’t only exceptionally bright but versatile, as well. As a matter of fact, it comes with batteries and even rail keys such as the standard GL, the MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny, Smith & Wesson 99/TW, and the Beretta 90two. I’d say what a bang for the buck!

Installation was quite easy, but if you’re a newbie, perhaps you could check out some guide videos first, as the battery door proved to be quite of a challenge to open. 

Speaking of batteries, it runs on CR123A lithium batteries and can last up to almost an hour. Again, not bad but not exceptional as well. 

What’s cool…

…is its one-handed snap to attach and detach it from the gun. Thanks to this feature, I didn’t have to have my hand in front of the muzzle when attaching and detaching it. A very thoughtful little detail. 

It’s also lightweight, being made from aircraft aluminum, although it would look a bit different from your Glock at a very close inspection.

As for the quality?

It’s Streamlight, so the quality is almost unquestionable. And indeed, its lens is shock-resistant and resistant to high temperatures.

Looking for a good laser light combo for your Glock? Then you need some good green lasers in your arsenal. 

If you’re looking for functionality even in the daytime, then just know that green lasers are much more visible to the human eye than red lasers, even under the sun. 

And this is the best-priced green laser light combo that we’ve found so far. 

But this is not this tactical light’s only merit. 

Aside from having an excellent green laser that was able to reach up to 200 yards during our daytime trial, it also boasts of an ECR Instant-on Technology that would instantly turn the laser/light on right after you draw your weapon- no other configuration is needed. 

Now, if it’s able to reach up to 200 yards in the daytime, just imagine using it at night. It even went through glass windows very effectively, clearly, and ever so accurately. That alone made this a well-worth-it purchase for us. 

But aside from that, you can also switch modes, from just a green laser to a constant light mode to a strobe, and to a laser and light combo. 

Its light output is just very sufficient at 100 Lumens, not too bright but not also dark. Its strobe light is much brighter at 140 Lumens and is pretty powerful enough to disarm an opponent. 

Just like the light output…

…its battery life is also just right, nothing too stunning. It runs at around 1 hour in light and laser mode and over seven hours in just laser mode. 

If you’re looking for a laser and light combo with more brightness than the previous one on this list, then it’s time to turn to one of the best makers of tactical lights, Streamlight. 

This combo’s light output is only 115 Lumens, but once we shined it in our fully lit room, it felt like more than 115, seriously!

Its brightness felt like it was around 150 or more. 

It has a green laser that is as bright and as clear as the Viridian one, with the exception that this one has a shorter reach and shorter battery life. 

But despite that…

…we’re able to use it as far as 50 yards at night, and the beam is also solid enough to go through glass, which is pretty impressive. 

The battery life is more than an hour for the light modes and around four hours for the laser and light combination. 

It’s very right that it’s such a breeze to use, especially with its ambidextrous controls (on, off, and constant light), and it also has a wide range of temperature operations (-20°F to +120°F.), so it’s quite a shame that it doesn’t have a strobe function. It would’ve been way brighter!

Nevertheless, it’s a very versatile light and laser combo for its price, that I was able to use it lots of time within just a couple of months. 

In case you’re worrying…

…it also comes with a key kit, so it fits most guns and fits them like a glove, too!

Along with Streamlight, SueFire has been one of the go-to’s for the best tactical accessories for pro-shooters and weapon owners for years now. 

And if you’re looking for tactical light with the best ITR lens, this is your best bet. 

This SureFire X300 Ultra has a TIR lens that makes the light beam so tight and concentrated that it’s almost like a laser, but not quite. Despite that, it still managed to give some side illumination for your peripheral view. 

Upon using it in a room, the beam indeed was tight, but impressively, there was still enough light to flood the room, so I was still able to survey the place well. 

In addition to this…

…the 600 Lumens of light output has a unique yellowish-green tinge to it, so the light can be more optimal for human sight. 

That being said, it was still a bit too bright, especially when used inside a brightly painted room, so you might want to be careful if you don’t want to get blinded, too. 

This guy can fit most railed guns, but if you’re also planning to use it for non-railed guns, you’d need to get an adapter for that. 

Now, what’s cool is it’s one of the easiest to install among these tactical lights. I didn’t need any tools, and I was able to do it in just a minute. Easy, but it’s still tight and secure. 

What’s cooler…

…is it has a one-finger control, and it’s ambidextrous, as well, so you can change modes anytime and in any situation.

Looking for a tactical light with a red laser and a pretty tame flashlight to go with it?

This Crimson Trace LL-807 is the best red laser and light that we’ve found and tested yet. 

The whole unit is much bigger than most of the units in this list, but once it’s fitted on your Glock 19, it looks like it’s supposed to.

Now, here’s the kicker…

…this light’s red laser has an output of 5mW for a Class 3R Laser. Now, in case you didn’t know, this is the brightest laser beam that’s legally allowed. 

Suffice it to say, it was really bright with a solid beam that also goes through glass. It can be visible during the daytime, although not as much as the green laser, it’s still helpful and sufficient.

You can switch between four modes: laser only, light only, laser and light combo, and laser and strobe combo. 

And it doesn’t end there.

It also activates instantly that I didn’t even need anything, not even intuition! This is because its on/off switch is located on the front, so you’d naturally touch it once you grip your gun out of the holster. 

Pretty clever engineering right there. 

Now, if you’re all for a tamed tactical light rather than the other lights, which are blindingly bright, then you’re in for a treat. At 150 Lumens, this gives just a little more than enough brightness to keep you safe.

It can also disarm and blind your attacker momentarily, but it won’t blind you, even if used indoors.

Looking to focus more on excellent quality and build of your tactical light? Then nothing would beat something that’s made by Glock themselves!

ThisGlock OEM Xenon 6V is one chunky boy, and with its durable quality, that’s pretty much justified. 

If you also care about your pistol’s aesthetics…

…then you’ll love that it’s also made from the same material used for your Glock, so it doesn’t look out of place when it’s mounted on the gun. Just perfect and natural, like it’s always been a part of the gun from the beginning.

It has switches located on either side, so it’s ambidextrous and very easy and intuitive to control even in the most crucial of moments. 

At just 60 Lumens, it’s not the brightest. But if you’re looking for the perfect tactical light for your bedroom gun, then this is your best bet, as it won’t blind you. 

Although I said it looks perfect on your Glock…

…it’s not flush with the gun’s muzzle when installed. Now, it’s not much of a big deal for me, but it might be for you. 

That might also mean that you’d need to clean it more often, especially if you’re using it regularly (or every day at the shooting range), as its location tends to make it collect more dirt than usual. 

Testing it in my backyard on a very dark night, the beam was able to reach up to around 50 yards, which is still quite good, considering its light output. 

Another nice touch is it also comes with two batteries and a spare bulb in the package.

The second SureFire tactical light on this list, this one gave us two options of light output- 300 Lumens and 1000 Lumens.

This SureFire XH30 can fit both Picatinny and Universal rails, so I was able to use it not only for my Glock 19. 

Like most well-made gun lights, this one has an ambidextrous switch that you can operate with only one finger. 

And here’s the kicker…

…aside from toggling between constant light and strobe light, you can also switch between a blindingly bright 1000-lumen light output or tone it down to 300 Lumens with just one touch of the switch. 

Isn’t that sweet?

Moreover, it also has a TIR lens, which makes the beam quite tight and concentrated while maintaining enough peripheral illumination. 

Now, the thing is…

…unlike the SureFire X300, which also has a TIR lens, this one produces a bit more concentrated beam that it felt like there’s not much illumination for the rest of the room or then place. 

Suffice to say, the beam is a bit narrow. 

Now, the good news is that it also has an instant-on function which turns the light on the moment you hold the gun by the handle. This is all thanks to the little switch situated near the trigger guard. 

In addition to that, it’s also recoil-proof and weatherproof, thanks to the gaskets that we’ve found on its opening. 

Last but definitely not the least, we have another Streamlight, but it’s the TLR-7 this time, and we love it for its very easy-to-control switch. 

Made mainly with aluminum, this is one of the most lightweight tactical lights we’ve ever used, so if you worry about ruining the already great balance of your gun, then fret no more. 

Aside from this…

…this tactical light for gun has side switches that you can access with both left and right hands. All of its modes can be activated with this switch, as well. 

To use the light temporarily, just hold the switch down and release it to turn the light off. 

For constant light, just quickly press the switch, double-tap, and quickly release for the strobe function. 

And yes, it did sound hard to remember for me at first, too. But after some practice, it soon became quite second nature to me. 

In case you’re wondering…

…the light output is 500 Lumens, which is more than enough, I must say. And it did prove to be really bright, especially indoors. 

Now, just so you know, the light it emits is yellowish, unlike most gun lights on the market. I know some people who are bothered by this, but it didn’t seem to be much of a big deal for me. 

If anything, I was able to see more colors with a warmer light, in all honesty. 

And it doesn’t end there.

Its beam is also sufficiently wide, so I loved using it to survey my backyard or a very dark room. Despite that, it still has just enough concentration in the middle.

It’s also waterproof up to 1 meter for 30 minutes, and its lens is shock-proof and resistant to high temperatures to boot!
